What are Site Inductions
Site inductions ensure people accessing NEXTDC Data Centres are appropriately briefed on safety protocols and provide guidance to navigate the data centres. An induction is required for each data centre you will be accessing.
Once successfully inducted, your Identity and Access Card (IDAC) will allow unrestricted and unescorted access for all areas you are authorised to enter on a 24x7x365 basis.
Additional inductions may also be required if you are performing specialised work.
Inductions are completed online allowing you progress in your own time, at your own pace. Inductions include a summary of NEXTDC’s Facility Rules, general safety information, and facility-specific information. To successfully complete the induction, you must complete a set of online questions.
Online inductions expire after 12 months. NEXTDC’s induction management system will forward a refresher course link via email to the user at this time.
When a user completes their first induction, if they are authorised to obtain an IDAC, it can be collected from Reception at the facility. If they complete and induction for another facility, access will be added to the same initial IDAC. A separate IDAC is not required for most users.
You can show current and scheduled inductions (inc. request inductions) and show the user account invitation history within ONEDC.
