Decommissioning connectivity services

Use the Decommission Connectivity request to decommission Cross Connects (CCs) and Data Centre Interconnect (DCI) services.

WARNING! Due to the potential impact of decommissioning services, always check your information carefully prior to submitting the request.

  • NEXTDC will complete decommissioning of standard services within 4 working days.
  • NEXTDC will complete decommissioning of Expedited services within 24 hours of order acceptance.
  • If requesting work on behalf of a third party, you must submit the approval from that party for NEXTDC validation.
  • NEXTDC will review all requests and will contact you if additional information is required.

To decommission connectivity:

  1. In the Main Menu select Requests » New Request and click Decommission Connectivity.
  2. ONEDC opens the Decommission Connectivity
  3. Enter the decommission information:

    Select the Facility.

    Connectivity

    ONEDC shows all existing services in the selected facility.

    Select the service to decommission.

    Use the Calendar to select the Target Decommission Date.

    Use the Clock to select the Target Decommission Time.

    NOTE: Expedited delivery incurs an additional charge.

    Authority to disconnect live service

    WARNING! At the time of the requested cutover, NEXTDC staff will use a traffic analyser to confirm there is no active traffic passing across the original service. In the event that active traffic is found, we will defer to the authorisation indicated in your request. You can either request to be contacted in this instance or authorise to disconnect a live service.

    If this is a cutover to a new service, use the following fields to provide additional information (inc. the ticket number for the new connectivity service):

    • Customer reference (optional)
    • Cutover reference (optional)
    • Additional information (optional)

    Primary Contact

    NOTE! The primary contact must be available during the scheduled period so NEXTDC can contact someone during the work activity.

    You can also add a new contact if required.

    Cutover

    If this is a cutover to a new service, provide the ticket reference for the new connectivity service.

  4. Click Next to continue or click Cancel o quit without saving.
  5. ONEDC shows a summary of the request.
  6. Accept all the Conditions and click Submit to submit the request or click Cancel to quit without saving.
  7. ONEDC submits the request and shows a confirmation message.
  8. Click Okay to acknowledge the message.
  9. NEXTDC staff will action the request and provide updates via the ticket number. You can review the request via My Requests
