Ordering new connectivity services

The ONEDC portal uses a simplified Connectivity ordering page and prompts for additional information depending on the options selected. This page is used for ordering Cross Connects, Structured Cabling, and Data Centre Interconnects (DCIe and DCIf). AXON services are not currently available via this page.

Cutover to a new service

If this is a cutover to a new service, you can provide the ticket reference of the connectivity decommission, or the Service ID of the service to be decommissioned.

 

To order new connectivity:

  1. In the Main Menu select Services » Order New Services
  2. Select the connectivity service you wish to order.
  3. In the Connectivity Details section, select the Delivery Method (Standard or Expedited).
    Standard services will be delivered within 4 business days.
    You may wish to expedite the service delivery and have the service delivered in 24 hours for an expedited surcharge. There is no additional fee for the standard service delivery time.
  4. Use the Calendar to select the Target Commencement Date.
  5. Choose the Facility that the service relates to.
  6. Enter your PO Number (if applicable).
  7. Click Next to continue or click Cancel to quit without saving.
  8. You can order multiple services in a single request. ONEDC will show the current connectivity services added to the request:
  9. Click Add.
  10. Select the Connectivity type: (e.g. Structured Cabling Only or All Connectivity Services).

    Structured cabling is required before ordering any new connectivity services, however existing racks will often have spare sports in existing Structured Cabling Instances.

    Structured Cabling (SC) only

    All connectivity services including Cross Connects (CCs) and Data Centre Interconnects (DCIs)

    Select Structured Cabling Only and click Next.

    Enter the Structured Cabling Details.

    ONEDC automatically populates the facility.

    Select All Connectivity Services and click Next .

    Enter the Connectivity Details.

    Select the A-End Location.

    Select the B-End Facility and Location.

    NOTE: Select the same facility to show CC products, or select a different facility to show the DCI products.

    Select the Product.

    ONEDC shows the applicable charges.

    Enter the A-End information.

    Select the Location:

    • Rack ID
    • Other Demarcation Point

    NOTE: You can also request new SC if required.
    If requesting new SC, you can select a Specific Port or the Next Available port.

    Repeat this step for the B-End information.

    IMPORTANT! If the B-End is in another organisation’s rack, you must supply a Letter of Authority from that organisation.

    Use the File Manager to upload the Letter of Authority.

    ONEDC shows a summary of the request.

    NOTE: If you select Diverse Cabling Required, ONEDC prompts for additional information (e.g. Diverse Cabling ID or other identifier).
    NOTE: If you select This is a cutover service, ONEDC prompts for additional information.
    Provide the ticket number of the decommission connectivity request as the cutover reference.

  11. Click Submit to continue or click Cancel to quit without saving.
  12. ONEDC adds the connectivity service request to the table.
  13. You can add another connectivity service in the single request or click the red x to remove a product from the connectivity request.
  14. Click Next to continue or click Cancel to quit without saving.
  15. ONEDC shows the Connectivity Summary page:
  16. Accept the Conditions and click Submit to submit the request or click Cancel to quit without saving.
  17. ONEDC submits the request and shows a confirmation message.
  18. Click Okay to acknowledge the message.
  19. NEXTDC staff will action the request and provide updates via the ticket number. You can review the request via My Requests.
